Yayasan Bina Karta Lestari

Bina Karta Lestari (BINTARI) Foundation is a non-governmental organization engaged in environmental management to achieve sustainable development. BINTARI is independent, nonprofit, and not oriented toward practical politics.

BINTARI founded in 1986 in Semarang, Central Java by some scientists, practitioners, and environmentalists who are very concerned about environmental issues and sustainable development especially in urban areas. Officially, BINTARI started its activities on February 15, 1986.

BINTARI have a vision that every environmentally development activities will be successful if public participation can run optimally. For that communities must be empowered, and thus have an effective opportunity to participate in the process of development and environmental management.

So as to realize the above matters, BINTARI trying to describe the idea of scientists, environmentalists, practitioners and others who are interested in environmental issues, in the form of concrete activities in the field with the community.
